Briefs are ideas (ramblings) that don’t warrant a full post, but have potential for further exploration.
I’m writing this under an appreciable mental strain… as tomorrow… I will be 40…
Been working at Playstation® for a month now. It feels good to be back on the steady. Freelance at night. But, it’s really catching up. It’s a different feeling working on the project I’m on… a good one….
Stats for b-boy competitions (i.e. power moves, floor rocks, top rocks, freezes, flips, gender, age, etc.)
Francis Parker School puts out a magazine… a pretty nice magazine. I was kind of impressed with some of the spreads. On delivery one day I asked one of the school staff who designs it? She said, “It’s completely student created. But, there is teacher guidance.”
My first thought was, “Geezus, we’re in trouble…”
Truthfully, it’s pretty awesome.
This link reminds me of that.
It was one of those nights where you constantly switch between apps, jump links, and constantly check your notifications. I had this text ready to go. Just press send. But, it’s late and seems awkward to send it out. I’ve read about stationery, late night cafes, travel guides, and whatever else. It’s getting closer to tomorrow, and pretty soon I can knotch another quiet Friday. But, the message is still in queue. Outgoing…
“Did you visit Mom today?”
“I’m here now…”
I sat there under the tree next to her headstone, rose petals arranged around her photo in three sets – 1, 4, and 3. My reply was still sending.
“Be there soon.”
<Still Sending Pic>
I opened my browser to continue where I left off reading. Maybe play a pandora track. But, it’ll slow down my outgoing. Nujabes radio could work. It’ll slow my outgoing.
I laid back on the grass and read. Left arm tired. Switch. Right arm tired. Switch. Why don’t I do this more often? Sure wish I had my headphones. I meant to bring them, but was already in the car when I realized.
It’s so green here. You can just sit back and relax. The shade helps. Did she pick this spot on purpose? Tremendous foresight. But, she did always say things precursed with “When I’m gone…”
“I didn’t want to post on ig today.”
“I didn’t either. Woke up and was like, ‘nah.”
“It’s been six years.”

Homepage is back up. Gonna get weird here for a while…
“Would you shorten your life to be really good at something? As in the best in the world? What if you couldn’t negotiate and the deal meant you died in 200 days? Would you take it?”
Truth is I’m a little scared of riding a motorcycle. Closest I’ve ever come was one of those super minis that my brother had. But, it’d be fun to roll up and down KVR to/from work everyday…

Something’s happened in the past year. General interest is waning heavily. I think it might be overposting. It could be a shift in tone or a shift in subject matter. I have to read back on it and try to assess…
I think I’ve come here almost every weeknight (save Fridays) for the past few weeks. I get my drink; put my buds in; ignore the sports; and enjoy a drag. I can see the freeway from where I usually sit. It’s like sitting in front of a river… #DesignToTheDrank
Always wanted to try it again. Who knew computing in a cafe would be so nerve wracking…? #Cafexperiment
Tired, frustrated. Printing is always going to be just printing. There’s no design work. The after hours I love spending alone at the office aren’t doing it for me anymore. We’re just banging out print after print after print… endlessly. I try to look for ways to make it interesting or change things up. There’s got to be something. Time’s slipping by…
I forgot what I was trying to build… #ARchiTecture
I have a mission that I won’t deviate from even though trying to complete it is making me physically ill…

Why did you stop trusting me? If someone was in your ear, why entertain it…?
Some things I’ve been thinking for a while, but have recently been reading up on:
Harley says she wants to be an artist when she grows up – an exciting, but heartbreaking, proposition…
I’ve been buying and reading up on cels lately – mainly anime. It seems exhausting when you think about how many different drawings it takes for just one second of movement. The following math is based on one moving element at 24 fps excluding corrections and background art.
(1 Genga + 1 Douga + 1 Cel) / 1 Frame = 3 Drawings/Frame
(3 Drawings /Frame) x (24 Frame/Sec) = 72 Drawings/Sec
(72 Drawings/Sec) x (60 Sec/Min) = 4320 Drawings/Min

Without experiential frame of reference, one can only speculate. Research. But, research can only get you as far as the immediate point before personal variables. Those variables are beyond the experiential frame of reference…

Aspirations and responsibility are yin and yang. One has to suffer to fully realize the other. Balance between the two is time dependent. Reduce emotion for best results… #Machines
On subspace: I was lost in that place for 00:22:24. When the credits rolled, it was jarring, and everything outside of the 3.5″ screen came into focus. I’d completely forgotten that I was in my room watching a video on my phone. My question is, what happens in the mind during complete immersion? I know it was just a particularly interesting episode, and I zoned out on it. But, is there a way to enter that zone at will? Is it through meditation? Is it through hallucinogens? Is that subspace…? #22MinutesToReality

Drawing and painting is generally additive besides working with scratchboard, etc. But, what if it was more subtractive, like sculpting? What if all the colors were immediately available on a canvas, and the amount of pressure you apply to an area determines the color that area becomes? I don’t mean the darkness that happens when you press down harder on a crayon, but an actual cycle through the available gamut.
- ROYGBIV : Colors of the rainbow. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet.
- An individual layer of paint for each color of the rainbow in a set order:
R (Top Paint Layer)
G (Middle Paint Layer)
V (Bottom Paint Layer)
- No pressure stays red. Increasing pressure reveals O thru V with max pressure revealing the canvas.
